Panthers expect DJ Chark, Hayden Hurst to participate in OTAs on Friday

The Carolina Panthers are getting some firepower at practice on Friday, but they’ll be using it sparingly.

Following Thursday’s installment of organized team activities, head coach Frank Reich told reporters that he expects both wide receiver DJ Chark and tight end Hayden Hurst to participate in tomorrow’s session.

“We’ll get them in,” Reich said. “There won’t be any team reps, but they’re going to start getting some routes on air

“Really no competitive stuff. But both those guys will get a little bit of that tomorrow.”

Before having come onboard as free-agent additions, Chark and Hurst both went under the knife this offseason. The former underwent surgery on his ankle while the latter addressed a nagging groin injury he had been dealing with since the start of the 2022 season.

The latter, in fact, spoke about that as well on Thursday—stating he should be back in the mix for the walkthrough and the routes on air.
