The Vikings kept just four wide receivers on their roster after Saturday’s roster cuts. They’ll more than likely add a fifth before the regular season, but that won’t be Brandon Zylstra, who the team cut on Saturday.
Zylstra, a Minnesota native, appeared in all 16 games for the team last season.
He’ll be joining the Panthers, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Zylstra was never going to be a top-three receiver on the Vikings, but he worked hard and added depth.
We’ll see if the Vikings decide to add another wideout before the season starts. If not, don’t be surprised to see Irv Smith Jr. as a wide receiver in some sets.
