Panthers claim former Chiefs/Eagles OT Dillon Gordon off waivers

The Panthers continue to reshape their offensive line, particularly on the outside where they need the most help. The team has just claimed former Eagles and Chiefs offensive tackle Dillon Gordon off waivers.

Like Trai Turner, Donte Jackson and Eric Reid, Gordon played his college football at LSU but has only played one game in his NFL career – in Philadelphia when he was a rookie in 2016.

The Eagles cut Dillon in December of 2017 and he was added to the Chiefs practice squad a few days later. He’s been on and off with Kansas City since then. Dillon spent the entire 2018 season on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury suffered in the first preseason game of the year.

Gordon (6-foot-4, 322 pounds) projects as a potential third-string tackle behind Taylor Moton, Daryl Williams and whoever else gets added to the roster in the draft. There’s no guarantee he’ll make the cut.
