Panthers' Christian McCaffrey Out With Hamstring Injury vs. Texans

The Panthers seem to be fighting an injury bug, and Christian McCaffrey was the first to fall.

As he ran down towards the 10-yard line against the Texans, the Panthers running back seemed to skip mid-step. McCaffrey was taken to the blue medical tent and was later ruled out with a hamstring injury.

McCaffrey missed 13 games during the 2020 season for a variety of injuries, ranging from a high ankle sprain, his shoulder and quadriceps.

But, Carolina's woes didn't end there. Cornerback Jaycee Horn was carted to the locker room early in the second half, suffering a non-contact injury. Safety Juston Burris also suffered an injury earlier in the drive, but the Panthers have not released his status yet.

Per The Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Alexander, Burris is doubtful with a groin injury. NFL Network's James Palmer reported that Horn, who is out with a foot injury, was taken immediately to get X-rays. A source later told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that Horn suffered a broken foot.

And although D.J. Moore gave fans a scare as he hobbled off the field early in the fourth quarter, the wide receiver went back out several plays later.
