Panthers add offensive line depth by signing 2 more former AAF players

The Carolina Panthers are aggressively pursuing former AAF players. On Thursday, they signed the league’s top receiver in Rashad Ross. Today, they followed that move up by signing two more offensive linemen.

According to a release on the team website, the Panthers have signed center Parker Collins and guard Kitt O’Brien.

Collins checks in at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds. He will compete for the primary backup center role behind Matt Paradis.

O’Brien is a bit bigger at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds. The Panthers may see him as a replacement for Amini Silatolu, who is still a free agent and may not come back for next season. He will share snaps behind Greg Van Roten and Trai Turner with the remaining backup guards on the roster.

Both Collins (Jaguars, Rams) and O’Brien (Colts) have previously spent time in the NFL but neither of them has played in a real game as of yet.
