Panthers activate TE from COVID list, waive WR Marken Michel

The Panthers’ tight ends have been trending up at training camp after a few dismal years at this spot. Dan Arnold has settled into a good rhythm with Sam Darnold, while Ian Thomas is showing signs of shaking out of his rut. The tight end room got reinforcements today, as well.

Carolina just announced that Stephen Sullivan has been activated from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list. Sullivan has connections with general manager Scott Fitterer from Seattle as well as offensive coordinator Joe Brady and wide receiver Terrace Marshall rom their time together at LSU.

To make room for Sullivan, the Panthers waived wide receiver Marken Michel. He spent most of the 2020 season on the team’s practice squad, so there’s a chance he’ll return later this year.

This morning’s training camp practice at Wofford was pushed back an hour and a half from 8:30 am to 10 am ET. Sullivan is on-sight and participating.
