Tonight's Panorama programme is likely to stoke up a controversy. The report, presented by John Ware, claims that funds raised by Interpal, the London-based charity that helps Palestinians in the occupied territories, have been channelled to Hamas, which is widely regarded as a terrorist organisation. Interpal categorically denies that it supports Hamas. It has been investigated twice by the Charity Commission, which found no evidence of inappropriate activity, and won a legal action against the Sunday Telegraph in 1997 for making a similar claim.
