Panic as Land Rover driver crashes into six parked cars outside gym

A Land Rover smashed into a row of cars during a driver's rampage outside a gym.

Gym goers found their cars crushed together and seriously damaged in The Matchworks car park in Garston after a suspected hit and run at around 11am on Thursday morning.

The driver of a black Land Rover crashed into six other cars in the unusual incident, witnesses said.

Some of the cars had their bumpers ripped off while others were crushed when the vehicles smashed into eachother.

It is not yet known what caused the smash.

The driver of the Land Rover left the scene after the crash but has since been located by police.

One woman, who photographed the aftermath of the huge crash, told the ECHO she was shocked to see the damage.

One witness said: "I walked out the gym and heard a car alarm going off and the lights flashing then I saw a woman in a black range rover with next to no bumper driving away.

"I walked over to the cars and had seen she had damaged the cars as in the picture.

"I went back into the gym to see if they had anything to do with the car park and I explained to the gentleman what had happened.

"One of the car owners was there too. They both came out and looked and they were as shocked as I was."

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating after a number of parked cars were damaged in a car park in Garston today (Thursday 16 January 2020).

"A report was received just before 11.15am that seven vehicles had been damaged after a black Land Rover was in collision with six stationary vehicles at The Matchworks car park.

"The driver of the Land Rover has been located and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
