Pandemic is just the write medicine as author completes four books

A prolific author is just about to publish his fourth book of the pandemic.

In the 17 months since normal business activities came to a sudden stop, Loudon Temple has turned to the written word.

The Renfrewshire writer also revealed he has plans for another two books in the pipeline.

Loudon had run the Kilbarchan-based Brookfield-Knights music agency before covid knocked out all gigs.

His fourth book ‘Tales Jist Needin Tae be Tellt’ is a lighthearted look at some of his life experiences and travels.

Loudon said: “The pandemic certainly had the effect of slowing everything down, forcing us to re-adjust and find new ways to approach the issue of day-to-day living.

“I was determined to turn the potential for negativity on its head.”

The former journalist reckons his pandemic writing pace “could be a record”.

His last book was on Paisley’s Bungalow Bar and the current writing project runs to 128 pages.

Tales of the unexpected: Loudon Temple (Loudon Temple)

Loudon said: “I have another two books on the way.

“Tales Jist Needin Tae be Tellt is a collection of short stories from life experiences and travels,

“I hope these stories will raise a smile and maybe a few eyebrows too.

“It’s a wide and varied collection covering a range of topics. There’s daring deeds,

tricks and traditions, heroes, shocks and horrors, a very naughty royal souvenir,

surprises and achievements, magic and mystery and great names from the past.

“There is also sweet revenge, gentlemen of the road, amazing coincidences, lessons learned, plans that backfired, the miracle of meditation, a pop star double, a gold hoard still to be

discovered, men with painted fingernails, wild parties. . .and a bare naked romp.

“The material is mostly lighthearted, although there are one or two from the darker

side of life.”

* Tales Jist Needin Tae be Tellt, £10, will be available from his travel-writing website www.beenandgoneanddoneit.com
