Giant pandas are always in the news. Typically for something sex-related - marriage, mating, birth, mating using Viagra. So it was refreshing to hear an exciting story about a fugitive panda escaping from Wolong nature reserve.
Until it was revealed that the panda, found roaming the streets of Dujiangyan, south-west China, may have been hunting for her 'Mr Right'.
It's bizarre how many times topics on pandas relate back to sex, considering how they are believed to be incompetent breeders. So bad, in fact, that vets in China had to show 'panda porn' to their furry friends in order to increase their libido.
It turns out that pandas (or giant cat bears in Chinese) have similar reproduction rates to bears in the wild. They just happen to be camera shy.
So the question remains, if pandas evidently aren't exhibitionists, how did vets get hold of panda porn? A secret panda voyeur?
