PANCHKULA: After rain water entered several houses in Panchkula, the municipal corporation (MC) identified a few sectors where there is an issue of waterlogging and prepared a team of officials with pump set, who will work in those sectors to clean the road gullies during the rain. In the flood control room, 78 complaints were registered during July 30 to August 2.

While providing information, MC commissioner Dharamvir Singh stated that their teams had identified a few sectors, including sectors 9,10 and 19, in the city where incidents of waterlogging occur during the rains. He added that a special team had been put in place to clear road gullies in these areas to avoid such incidents.

A special team has also been formed that will visit the areas where waterlogging occurs every time it rains and it will use pump sets to drain out water from the affected areas to the storm water drainage system. The MC has also issued a telephone number (0172-2583695) and a toll free number (18001802013) number for the residents to be called during flood-like situation. Both numbers are working 24x7 to assist the residents.
