Panchkula: Booze, hookah parties on at cafes at 1am

PANCHKULA: A post-midnight four-hour raid on Sunday at two hookah bars found parties going on, Covid norms tossed aside and customers smoking hookah and drinking booze. A team of CM flying squad and cops landed up at Coco Cafe in Sector 11 and Purple Frog in Sector 9 at 1am.

Hundreds of customers were in the cafes, said cops, who closed exit points and took details of youngsters smoking hookah. Police arrested owners Ashish and Gurkirtan, both from Patiala. Cops recovered 30 liquor bottles and 132 beer bottles. Samples of hookah were sent to a forensic lab. Siddharth Dhanda, DSP, CM flying squad, said they had got a tip-off about late-night parties at cafes.
