BHOPAL: Panchayat and civic body polls will be held in three phases in the state. The state election commission issued instructions for preparations to all the district election officers.
In the instructions issued on Wednesday, state poll panel said that it has come the notice that in several places, some villages of the constituency of district panchayat members fall in one development block while other in different development block.
Thus, it has become necessary in such cases to hold elections of both the development blocks on the same date. If elections are held in different phases in such cases of overlapping constituencies - then as the counting of votes will be done on the same day at the polling booth, the partial result of candidates will be announced before the election in other block and it could influence elections there.
