Shrove Tuesday falls on February 25 this year and foodies will be expecting pancakes galore.

Eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is a tradition which stems from the last day of "fat eating" or "gorging" before the Lent fast.

This city centre café on Frederick Street is worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.
On Tuesday they have a wonderfully indulgent chocolate special available for one day only.
The pancake fondue comes with a platter of 'cakes, fruit and liquid chocolate to dip them in.

Here's a great way to get hold of some excellent pastries in Leith.

Pancake club night - Milk Edinburgh

Why not continue celebrating Pancake Day through the night and into the small hours of Wednesday?

All-you-can-eat pancakes at Harvey Nichols

Harvey Nichols are offering hungry shoppers a chance to help the homeless as well as fill up on quality pancakes.
Running throughout this week, they're offering all-you-can-eat American style pancakes for £12.50
A pound from each bill at the Forth Floor restaurant will go to the homelessness charity StreetSmart.
They say: "Guests can pile their pancakes high with honeycomb, mixed fruits, chocolate-coated candied orange slices and roasted pecans.
"The Pancakes Day menu also offers a selection of homemade sauces including melted chocolate, salted caramel, ginger maple custard, lemon curd and Greek yoghurt."
