Pancake Day in Edinburgh: Five places you can get flipping good deals

Shrove Tuesday falls on February 25 this year and foodies will be expecting pancakes galore.

Fortunately Edinburgh's eateries won't disappoint on Pancake Day as there are a variety of great deals and special offers.

Eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is a tradition which stems from the last day of "fat eating" or "gorging" before the Lent fast.

So let's gorge away - we've rounded up some of the best offers on syrup-smothered stacks of pancakes below.

Pancake fondue - Coro the Chocolate café

(Coro the chocolate café)

This city centre café on Frederick Street is worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

On Tuesday they have a wonderfully indulgent chocolate special available for one day only.

The pancake fondue comes with a platter of 'cakes, fruit and liquid chocolate to dip them in.

You can book tables via their website here.

Extra crepes at Café Tartine

(Cafe Tartine)

Here's a great way to get hold of some excellent pastries in Leith.

Café Tartine on Commercial Street have a buy one get one free offer on all of their sweet crepes.

They say: "Buy any sweet crêpe and get any sweet crêpe absolutely free

"Choose from any of our delicious toppings, ranging from peanut butter and nutella, to banoffee!"

Pancake club night - Milk Edinburgh

(Milk Tuesdays)

Why not continue celebrating Pancake Day through the night and into the small hours of Wednesday?

If you think a pancake-packed club night will end up being very messy, you're probably right. That hasn't stopped Milk Tuesdays though.

They say: "This Tuesday, we bring you one of the most loved foodie events ever.

"While you're busy occupying yourselves with £1 tequilas and bad decisions we're going to be firing out the love of all foods -pancakes.

"Because what's better than being surrounded by stacks of pancakes, whipped cream and nutella? (not a lot)."

'Cheat day' pancake stack at Kcal Kitchen

(Kcal Kitchen)

We took a look at this intimidating pillar of pancakes earlier.

Kcal Kitchen's "cheat day" stack is smothered in peanut butter, Nutella and bits of Reece's Pieces.

If you fancy something a bit lighter, they are also doing 50% off their regular pancake dishes.

All-you-can-eat pancakes at Harvey Nichols

(Harvey Nichols)

Harvey Nichols are offering hungry shoppers a chance to help the homeless as well as fill up on quality pancakes.

Running throughout this week, they're offering all-you-can-eat American style pancakes for £12.50

A pound from each bill at the Forth Floor restaurant will go to the homelessness charity StreetSmart.

They say: "Guests can pile their pancakes high with honeycomb, mixed fruits, chocolate-coated candied orange slices and roasted pecans.

"The Pancakes Day menu also offers a selection of homemade sauces including melted chocolate, salted caramel, ginger maple custard, lemon curd and Greek yoghurt."
