Pamela Anderson breaks silence on why she refused to read Lily James' letter amid feud

Pamela Anderson has revealed she refused to read a letter sent to her by Pam & Tommy star Lily James after disapproving of the Disney+ series.

The 55-year-old Baywatch star objected to her life story being used for the show, which explores how her sex tape with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee was leaked.

Lily, 33, tried reaching out to Pamela before the series was released, saying she wanted nothing more than to honour the former glamour model, but Pamela wasn't impressed.

"It was already hurtful enough the first time," Pamela said in a new interview, referring to the tape being leaked. "It’s like one of those things where you’re going, 'Really? People are still capitalising off that thing?'"

Speaking to the New York Times, Pamela said a scanned copy of the letter sits in her inbox unread and she admitted to never watching Pam & Tommy.

Speaking to The Mirror recently, Lily said she wanted to do Pamela "justice".

"Feeling like you could ever possibly have the right to tell someone’s actual story is a confusing conversation and something I still think about with Pamela.

"I still hope and pray I did her justice. But with anything, you just have to trust your instincts and know your intentions are good in shaping a story."

Netflix recently released the trailer for Pamela's new documentary which provides her account of the sex tape scandal.

Speaking in Pamela, A Love Story, the actress said: "I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick.

"I want to take control of the narrative for the first time."

Her new documentary will also follow Pamela's rise to fame and will use footage from the star's personal archives.

The film will feature interviews with Pamela as well as new images from her collection and notes from her journals.

Ryan White will direct the film while Pamela's son Brandon Thomas Lee will act as a producer alongside Jessica Hargrave and Julia Nottingham.

The documentary will be released on the streaming service on January 31 and coincides with the release of her memoir Love, Pamela.
