Pamela Adlon doesn't regret work with Louis CK despite sexual misconduct claims

Pamela Adlon has opened up about her past collaborations with disgraced comic Louis CK, saying she was “proud” of some of the work they did together.

Ahead of the fourth season premiere of Better Things, Adlon was interviewed by The Daily Beast for its Last Laugh podcast. Asked about working with CK on the comedy-drama series Louie, she said: “I learned so much.”

“It was, I think, for me, the biggest crash course in what I’m doing right now, in terms of being able to be in scenes and direct scenes. It was an incredible masterclass for me.”

In 2018, CK was accused of masturbating in front of several female comedians and writers, which he later admitted to doing.

Louie, which ran from 2010 to 2015, was written, directed and edited by CK, and featured Adlon as a recurring character.

Talking about a particularly controversial scene in Louie where Adlon’s characer is forcibly kissed by CK’s – telling him “you can’t even rape well” – Adlon inisted she was still glad she had filmed it.

“I wouldn’t do it differently,” she said. “I’m proud of that scene.”

Better Things is a highly acclaimed sitcom co-created by Adlon and CK. CK was jettisoned from the project shortly after allegations of sexual misconduct came to light.
