- A number of lawmakers have said that despite her dismissal by President Donald Trump, Pam Bondi is still obligated to appear before the House Oversight Committee.
- The committee voted March 4 to subpoena Bondi to testify about the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein files.
- “This does not get her out of that bipartisan, lawful subpoena,” Rep. Maxwell Frost, a Florida Democrat wrote on X. “We will see her soon.”
- Trump fired Bondi Thursday, bringing an end to her 14-month tenure which was marred by controversy surrounding her management of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
- The scandal grew into a significant political setback for the administration, and Trump appears to have ultimately lost confidence in her ability to lead.
