Palworld developer Pocketpair will soon release the monster-catcher's 1.0 version after two years thriving in early access – but not until 2026, OK? So communications director and Pocketpair publishing manager John "Bucky" Buckley would like you to relax, please!
"Maybe I should push out the 1.0 explanation video again across the entire Palworld community?" Buckley writes in a November 24 post on Twitter. "Seeing a lot of comments on the Home Sweet Home trailer thinking it's gonna be a massive update."
The trailer for Home Sweet Home, scheduled to release December 17, promises a gnarly collaboration with cold-blooded FPS Ultrakill – though a brief teaser at the end reminds players that Pocketpair is currently working on Palworld 1.0, too, a cleaner version of the game.
Buckley talked about 1.0 in more detail in the September explainer video he references in his November 24 post. In the video, Buckley explicitly says Palworld's winter update – we now know this is Home Sweet Home – won't be as chunky as it was last year, since Pocketpair is devoting most of its time to the "major milestone" that is 1.0.
He reiterates this idea on Twitter, saying, "I doubt we'll release a 2026 roadmap as our focus is releasing 1.0 in 2026!"
"Home Sweet Home isn’t 1.0," he says plainly in another post. "I think you've misunderstood. Home Sweet Home is a smaller update because so much of the focus is on the mammoth sized 1.0 in 2026."
