Pals make Glasgow 100-mile rail round trip from Perth to pick up venom slush cocktails

Prior to the pubs reopening beer garden areas on Monday to punters across Scotland, plenty turned to home deliveries to ensure they could enjoy their favourite tipple.

And for two pals from Perth, the fact they couldn't get their hands on some cocktails from a Glasgow-based delivery service wasn't going to stop them - so they hopped on a train and got them delivered to Queen Street Station to take back with them.

Frazer McGregor and pal Courtney made the 100-mile round trip at the weekend to get their hands on some tasty drinks rustled up by Zander Nation Cocktail Station, which has been doing a roaring trade delivering cocktails to punters during lockdown.

The cocktail station is an off-shot of hugely popular mobile and nightlife DJ crew Zander Nation, who have been doing live streams every weekend to keep the party going and who Frazer was keen to help support by making the trip down to Glasgow.

He told Glasgow Live: "I've been a fan for a long time and joining in with the Bounce Bingo every week since lockdown began. When I heard they were doing cocktails, I was eager to get some so I could support them during the lockdown.

"I checked in with them each week to see if they were delivering in my area and when it seemed as though that wasn't going to happen, I decided I would make the journey down to them instead.

"Times are difficult for everyone but even more so for DJs all over the country as they have no means of income at the moment. They have gone above and beyond to keep everyone entertained during these difficult times and I just wanted to give them some support back and show some appreciation to them."

And Zander Nation Cocktail Station, who normally diver within Glasgow and to places like Greenock and Kilsyth, were blown away by Frazer and pal Courtney's trip to pick up their order - which included Venom Slushes and Strawberry and Skittle Daquiris.

They told Glasgow Live: "Frazer was the very first person to get in touch when we launched the Cocktail Station. But we couldn't deliver any to him as it's a bit far away.

"He came back this week asking if he and his pal could get some cocktails delivered to Queen Street Station now that the rules have changed on travelling.

"They got the train down and we delivered them at George Square along with a USB full of tunes we play on our shows as a thank you. We've also invited them to come down here next weekend to attend a rooftop stream we are doing.

"They said they watch all the streams every week. We have some really loyal customers but these two are right up there."

Fair play to Frazer and his pal, we hope the cocktails were worth it!
