Now friend and colleagues at the Direct Assessment Unit at Antrim Hospital have come together for an event in memory of their much-loved colleague.

Former colleague Maggie Bamford told Belfast Live: “Shortly after Laura’s passing we were approached by so many people that knew Laura and wanted to help, which gave us the idea of getting everyone together, while raising funds, we can celebrated Laura’s life.

“The event is to raise much needed funds to help support Laura’s two-year-old son Lorcan who has cerebral palsy. We hope to raise money to provide help for Lorcan's future care and developmental needs.

“Laura looked after all her staff and friends in every way she could. She worked with us all to ensure we were all happy at work. She supported us in everything we wanted to do, nothing was a problem to Laura.
