Pamola Faith has shared how she has been raising her daughter without gender expectations.
Only Love Can Hurt Like This' singer, 38, revealed her traumatic birth led to secrecy surrounding the bringing up of her daughter.
Last week the singing super star let slip the gender of her three-year-old child in a bombshell interview.
Now the songstress has said claims she was raising her child as gender neutral were inaccurate because she had been "misunderstood".
The singer explained she doesn't encourage "gender rigidity with toys" while bringing up her little girl.
She told The Radio Times : “I was misunderstood – the media reported that I wasn’t dictating gender stereotypes.
"True, I don’t encourage gender rigidity with toys, but really, I was traumatised by the birth and protective of our privacy.
"I wanted her to develop into herself before the world decided who she was. I felt like a lioness. She makes me look at the world in a way I’ve neglected for a long time.”
Paloma has no plans of sharing her little girl's name.
She has her daughter with her long-term love Leyman Lahcine.
Love has been on the cards for Paloma and Leyman since they embarked on a relationship in 2013, seven years ago.
The couple welcomed their daughter into the world in December 2016.
