Paloma Faith opens up on struggles as newborn baby battles reflux and thrush and admits she has days where "all she wants to do is cry"

Paloma Faith has shared a candid post about struggling with her newborn baby suffering with reflux and has admitted she has days when 'all she wants to do is cry'.

The singer has an ongoing 'post-partum diary' where she has been sharing brutally honest feelings with her followers, including how she is struggling with being a mum of a newborn baby in lockdown.

The 39-year-old shared her most recent offering on Facebook and Instagram last night, telling fans both she and her baby girl are suffering from a thrush infection after a challenging month.

Pleading for a 'miracle cure, the mum-of-two said: "It’s been a month! Obviously nothing is straight forward. We both have thrush (my nipples, her mouth), have been on Daktarin gel for her and Daktacort for me, plus Fluconodzole 50mg tablet (daily for a week now) and probiotics - and it feels like it’s just getting worse!

"WHERE IS THE MIRACLE CURE PLEASE?! I’m not very patient so all this ‘try this try that’ with newborns is very challenging for me.

"I like instant solutions!

"Bubs is doing well and started to open her eyes and really look now, which is wonderful.

"Reflux still in full force and trying to learn some upright feeding positions now that she is bigger. Don’t want to try the prescription meds, all the media about them is too scary. Had a day yesterday where all I wanted to do was cry. I’m starting to get twitchy about being able to exercise but have to wait for the 6 week sign off..... TWO TO GO!

"Finding it hard to be good with my eating and breastfeeding at the same time as it just makes you hungry!"

Infant reflux is a common problem in very young babies and can go misdiagnosed as colic. It occurs when a baby brings up milk or is sick shortly after feeding. The condition causes babies pain and discomfort and can be difficult to settle them.

Paloma recently welcomed her second child with her artist partner of eight years, Leyman Lahcine.

She has previously opened up on her IVF journey as well as her battle with post-natal depression following the birth of her first child.
