Paloma Faith had suicidal thoughts after suffering with jet lag on tour

Paloma Faith bravely told how she had suicidal thoughts after she suffered with jet lag on tour.

Speaking about the heartbreaking moment, she remembered dark thoughts clouding her mind when she flew Down Under to Sydney for her tour in 2009.

The singer, 39, laid bare the details of when she was left "mentally unstable" and had to pull the plug on her tour in her upcoming BBC2 documentary Paloma Faith: As I Am.

Candidly, Paloma said she was left "disorientated and mentally unstable" after experiencing jet lag for the first time.

According to The Sun, she said: "I've had really bad experiences coming to Australia.

"The first time I ever experienced jet lag, I got a bit disoriented and mentally unstable and had to cancel the tour. I contemplated suicide."

Paloma still was determined to return to Australia in 2015.

The songstress was rushed to hospital with exhaustion following the long haul flight.

At the time, she tweeted: "I don't think all the flying is very good for the body."

Of the documentary, Paloma shared she had let her friend and film maker into the reality of her life behind the scenes.

Filming was wrapped up in the first national lockdown last year.

It has been a journey over the past three years since the singer allowed the camera to capture her life behind closed doors.

Paloma has opened up on being a working mother, the social expectation of women, IVF, celebrity culture, feminism, the music scene and touring as a singing super star.

She wrote on Instagram : "3 years ago I allowed my friend and film maker Jane Mingay to start capturing an intimate look into the reality of my life behind the scenes.

"We continued to film until the first lock down and this documentary is the end result.

"I will do a Q&A soon after to be announced."

At home, she's very happy with her boyfriend Leyman Lahcine.

The couple have been raising their two daughters together at their lovenest.
