Palnackie swimmer Charlie Hutchison enjoys triple gold success at British Summer Age Group Championships

Palnackie swimmer Charlie Hutchison won three gold medals at the British Summer Age Group Championships at Tollcross in Glasgow recently.

The 17-year-old entered eight events and made seven finals in the 17 to 18 age group category.

He won gold in the 400m individual medley, 200m individual medley and 200m butterfly. He followed that up with silver in the 200m backstroke and also won bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay with his Ellesmere College team-mates.

Charlie also took part in the European Junior Championships in Kazan, Russia where he was just outside the medals in the 400m individual medley, half a second covering second, third and fourth. He enjoyed the experience and was proud to have represented Great Britain.

He would like to thank Dumfries Dolphins for their support and looks forward to training in the newly refurbished facility in DG1 in Dumfries.
