Palnackie charity ceilidh for Parkinson's UK raises more than £1,300

A Palnackie fundraiser in aid of Parkinson’s UK has netted an amazing £1,355 – and rising.

The star turn at Bill’s Ceilidh at Barlochan House was Haugh of Urr man Bill Little, who has Parkinson’s.

Bill took to the dance floor at the sold-out event on January 19 six months before his 90th birthday.

Daughter Isobel Craik, also from “The Haugh”, organised the ceilidh along with Barlochan staff.

She said: “Many thanks to all who attended and contributed.

“It turned out to be a very enjoyable afternoon with everyone putting their best foot forward.

“John Caskie and William McRobert provided super music with tea courtesy of good helpers.

“A lovely spread mainly from Barlochan kept energy levels up.

“And an amazing number of kindly people donated raffle prizes all added to a companionable atmosphere.”

Isobel added: “On a personal note Bill had a grand afternoon – and is looking forward to doing it again sometime!”
