Palestinian leaders are boycotting US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Israel, refusing to meet with him in protest of US President Donald Trump's decision last month to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

With the Palestinians boycotting Pence, the visit provides few clear opportunities to build bridges towards peace.
