'Palestinian blood' Partick Thistle targeted with anti-Israel graffiti after Firhill training session ahead of Scots tie

Anti-Israel graffiti has been daubed on Partick Thistle's stadium ahead of tonight's clash between Scotland and Israel at Hampden.

Vandals hit Firhill stadium, in the Maryhill area of Glasgow, with red blotches of paint while the words 'Palestinian blood' has been scrawled across the walls of one the Main Stand.

Israel will play Scotland at Hampden tonight as part of qualifiers for the EURO 2020 championship in an important tie for Steve Clarke's men.

It's believed the League One side allowed the Middle Eastern country to train at its stadium ahead of the crunch tie tonight.

It is unclear exactly when the paint was daubed over the stadium but it is believed to have happened overnight.

On social media one man said he was simply 'lost for words' over the graffiti at Firhill.

Another added: "That is shocking."

A police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of vandalism at Firhill Stadium, Glasgow, around 12.10am on Thursday, 8 October, 2020.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

It comes after an anti-Israel protest was organised at Hampden last month ahead of a previous tie.

Red paint was splashed over a road leading into the National Stadium with the words “ Palestinian blood!” daubed on an overlooking wall.
