Palatial 15-bed property fit for a king or queen up for sale on Scotland's west coast

Those of us who have watched the likes of Bridgerton, The Crown, and Downton Abbey have undoubtedly wondered what it must be like to live in a palace.

How would you fill all the rooms? How would you cope with all the dusting? How much would that cost to heat? Questions I'm sure we've all pondered while sitting on our sofas watching Netflix.

Well, for one buyer, they could be about to find out as a 15-bed A-listed mansion has gone on the market in Girvan and we're in awe.

Bargany House dates back to 1681 and was built by the Kennedy's of Bargany. Alterations and additions were carried out at the property in the 19th century by the Earl of Stair and still retains original pre-Adam plasterwork and carvings.

After falling into disrepair in the 1970s, it was completely refurbished in the 1980s and has undergone further detailed and careful renovations in the last decade.

It's now described as having restored original features with a blend of new contemporary finishes.

The mansion is comprised of four storeys and has been developed into a 'large but easily manageable' family home.

The ground floor features a study, cinema, games room billiard room and gym and an extensive cellar underneath. There are eleven bathrooms, seven of which are ensuites.

If you're looking for some privacy, the mansion is surrounded by 1200 acres of woodland and gardens overlooking the Bargany Estate parkland and the Girvan water.

The house can only be accessed by a 3/4 mile drive from the road which passes gate piers, woodland and an ornamental lake.
