The Palang Pracharath Party will not rush to form a coalition to rival the Pheu Thai alliance, secretary-general Sonthirat Sonthijirawong said on Thursday after the Election Commission (EC) released the latest unofficial results.
The figures showed Palang Pratcharat winning the popular vote over Pheu Thai, with Future Forward in third place.
Mr Sonthirat said the number of seats each party holds in the House was not finalised.
Palang Pracharath was waiting for judgement on complaints registered with the EC, which could change the numbers, he said.
Palang Pracharath has 118 seats from the constituency and party-list contest, according to the latest figures from the EC. Pheu Thai leads with 137 seats.
