Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) leader Uttama Savanayana said on Wednesday that his party was discussing the allocation of ministries with other parties, and it would be settled soon.
Mr Uttama told a press conference that PPRP was discussing the formation of its coalition with other political parties. It had already spoken with the Democrat Party and the Bhumjaithai Party and would approach others, including the Chartthaipattana and Chart Pattana parties, he said.
Regarding the coalition formation process, Mr Uttama said that his party first discussed policies with the other parties, and the second step was to allocate cabinet seats to implement those policies.
"The negotiations are continuing... We have our own stance and I would like all parties to prioritise national development over their share of the cake," Mr Uttama said.
He said that the negotiations would take a while longer and be completed according to the timeframe set by PPRP.
Mr Uttama went on to deny there was an internal rift within his party.
"There is not any internal problem that would cause a halt," he said.
He denied speculation that PPRP would announce the formation of its coalition government without waiting for the participation of the Democrat Party.
"There should not be speculation that the Democrat Party will not join the coalition because everything is under negotiation," Mr Uttama said.
He did not confirm whether the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives would be under PPRP's control.
