KOCHI: The district has reported 1,948 new Covid-19 cases and 2,290 recoveries, taking the total number of persons under treatment to 14,172 on Thursday. A total of 9,801 samples have been tested, and the test positivity rate (TPR) is at 19.87%, health department officials here said.
Of the new cases, 1,270 contracted the disease through local transmission. The source of infection of 652 persons is unknown. Twenty two health workers and four persons from other states also tested positive.
