Palace boss Roy Hodgson makes frank admission about Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid Man United interest

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admits that he is not surprised Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been attracting interest from top clubs in England and Germany this season.

The 21-year-old has been one of Palace's standout performers this season in the Premier League, with his displays at right-back for the Eagles attracting attention from several clubs, with Manchester United the latest to be linked with a move for the Croydon-born star.

And Hodgson has spoken out about the Palace academy product and whether speculation over his future will affect him.

“It is always hard to say whether a player would have their head turned by speculation of that type," said Hodgson, speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Eagles' game against Newcastle today (Saturday).

Crystal Palace's early player of the year, goal of the season, most improved player and more

“I don’t believe that an offer has been made and I think this is still speculation. I can’t say that I am surprised [about reported interest], I think he is playing so well and he has an incredible future in front of him.

“But he has a four year contract with us and when we asked him to sign that, we were asking him to be a Crystal Palace player during that time, and I’ve not seen anything in his performances, or heard anything that causes me to change my mind or have any doubts that he is going to be our player.

Crystal Palace legend has a message for Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid interest from Manchester United

“But if that speculation comes to pass and an offer comes to the table, then it will be up to the club to make a decision I suppose, but at the moment, I don’t have any concerns in that respect.”
