Pakora drive-thru closed 'until further notice'

Scotland's first pakora drive-thru has been closed 'until further notice' after a local resident raised concerns with the council.

Earlier this month we revealed Sheetal Revis aka 'the Pakora Explorer' would soon be serving a range of pakora dishes from a custom-built converted horse box in Old Kilpatrick.

However, after a successful first weekend last week which left the team 'speechless', they have announced they will be unable to trade this coming weekend.

A post on The Pakora Explorer Facebook page explained: "We are disappointed to have to share an update on this week's Pakora Explorer Drive Thru.

"Due to a concern from a member of the public West Dunbartonshire Council have asked us not to trade until further notice.

"This is an unprecedented time for us all. The safety of our staff and customers is our first priority, which many of you experienced last weekend. This is the same for the council as well and we thank them for their support thus far. As a drive thru we felt that we offered a more secure, no contact solution compared to takeaway or delivery services but it appears this sentiment is not shared by everyone.

"Secondly, to our customers, we can only apologise for the inconvenience and reassure you that everyone will be refunded in FULL, for this weekend."

However, Sheetal and her team aren't ruling out a return sometime soon: "We hope we will be able to come back to Old Kilpatrick in the not so distant future with the positivity and support of our valued pakora fans."
