Pakistan vs Cambodia: Pakistan aim to make history in FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers

NEW DELHI: Pakistan stand on the verge of a historic moment in football as they gear up to confront Cambodia in the home-leg (second round) match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Amidst a backdrop of rainy conditions that prompted adjustments in the training plans of both teams following a goalless draw in the first leg, they are now set for a crucial clash.

This marks a significant occasion for Pakistan, hosting an international event after an eight-year hiatus, with the backing of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

Historically, Pakistan's national football team has grappled with challenges in World Cup qualifiers.

Since their debut in World Cup qualifying in 1990, the team has yet to secure a victory, managing only three draws out of 32 games while scoring 10 goals and conceding 124.
