Pakistan to play seven Tests in third cycle of World Test Championship

Pakistan are scheduled to play seven Tests against England, Bangladesh and South Africa from August 2024 to January 2025 as part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship's third cycle, slated to conclude next year.

Their campaign kicks off with home fixtures against England and Bangladesh, comprising two and three Tests respectively. Following these engagements, Pakistan will travel to South Africa for a series of three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests in the latter part of the year.

Pakistan have yet to secure a Test series victory in South Africa and Australia.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed that Durban, Centurion and Johannesburg will host the T20Is from December 10-14, with the ODIs set to take place from December 17-22 in Paarl, Cape Town and Johannesburg. The two Test matches are scheduled for Centurion (December 26-30) and Cape Town (January 3-7).

In the ODIs, Pakistan have emerged victorious in two of the last three series held in 2013-2014 and 2020-21. Conversely, South Africa claimed victory in 2002-2003 (4-1), 2006-2007 (3-1), 2012-2013 (3-2),\ and 2018-2019 (3-2).

Ahead of their South Africa tour, Pakistan will conclude a series of three ODIs and three T20Is in Australia from November 4-18, before departing on November 19.

Additionally, Pakistan are set to host a three-nation ODI tournament featuring South Africa and New Zealand, followed by the eight-team Champions Trophy in 2025.
