Pakistan's 'three-word plan' that plotted Australia's downfall

Pakistan's 22-year wait to win in Australia ended on Sunday when Mohammad Rizwan-led team won the ODI series 2-1, with a comprehensive eight-wicket win in the decider at the Perth Stadium.

After narrowly losing the first ODI in Melbourne, Pakistan made a remarkable comeback to level the series with a nine-wicket triumph in Adelaide before clinching the winners' trophy in the final game of the series.

The build-up to the tour was not ideal, as the white-ball coach Gary Kirsten stepped down days before the team's departure, forcing the Pakistan Cricket Board to appoint their red-ball coach Jason Gillespie as a stop-gap arrangement.

The new coach-captain duo of Gillespie and Rizwan got the team together in style, with a three-word plan that showed up in a dressing-room video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on its YouTube channel.

While the team's leadership lauded the players' effort, a white board displayed in the dressing room had three words written on it: 'calm, clear, execute'.

Addressing the team, Gillespie also mentioned those words in his congratulatory speech after the third ODI.
