Pakistan's Azhar Ali applies for director of NCA role

NEW DELHI: Former Test and ODI captain Azhar Ali has submitted his application for the position of Director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opened the application process for the post, and Azhar has expressed a strong interest in taking on this role.

Sources indicate that the PCB is pleased with Azhar's application, citing his extensive cricketing experience and educational background as valuable assets.

Having retired from international cricket in the previous year, Azhar has continued to be involved in the sport, currently participating in a departmental tournament in Pakistan.

Azhar Ali boasts an illustrious cricket career, having played 97 Tests and 53 ODIs, with additional experience from 263 first-class matches.

The PCB is set to finalize the appointment of the NCA Director in January. Currently, former Test bowler Nadeem Khan is serving as the acting Director of the NCA.
