Some people chose to commute during the storm, with debris littering the highways.

In the aftermath, one motorcyclist was pictured wheeling his bike under a fallen tree which was covering the entire width of the road.

Pakistan Meteorological Department director Sardar Sarfaraz was quoted as saying: "Last night's dust storm was stronger than expected. Winds blew at a speed of 40mph and reduced the visibility to 500m."
