Paisley woman completes skydive after shedding over six stone

A Foxbar woman is on cloud nine after ticking off a task from her bucket list.

Self-confessed adrenaline junkie Grace Neill has always wanted to do a skydive, but sadly her weight prevented her from being able to do so.

Grace claims that most of her life she had been overweight, until January 2017 when she decided to do something about it as it was preventing her from doing the things she wanted to do the most.

Grace told Renfrewshire Live : “I have always been a bit of an adrenaline seeker but there were so many things I couldn’t do due to my weight.

“In January 2017, I as at my heaviest weighing over 19 stone. I was at my brother’s house and the couch was sagging beneath me and I weighed myself on his bathroom scales and I decided I had to so something to lose weight.”

I tried to lose weight myself and over the following 10 months I only lost 10lbs.

“I then admitted to myself that I needed help. So I joined my local Slimming World group in October 2017.

“I fell in love with Slimming Worlds generous Food Optimising plan. At no point did I feel deprived and that I was missing out.”

And sticking to Slimming World’s plan, Grace lost over six stone and was able to get back in to the hobbies and activities she always wanted to do, she added:

“Following the amazing plan from Slimming World, I shed nearly six stone in 10 months.

“This weight completely changed my life.

“I have been able to start living the life I had always wanted.

“I’m now fit enough to go hill walking which I had tried and failed at before my weight loss. I can go to the carnival with friends without having the fear the bar won’t close – I have been asked to leave a ride before because I was too big.

"I have been able to go horse riding again as for a long time I was over the maximum weight capacity.

“This summer myself and my partner bought kayaks - something I never thought I’d be able to do as I was always over the weight capacity.

“On Sunday, December 12, I ticked off something that had been at the top of my life bucket list for as long as I can remember but again I used to always be over the maximum weight – I went skydiving!

“Slimming World really has changed my life in more ways than one.”
