The HNC Art and Design students at West College Scotland were handed a brief by the former Saints CEO to create a new logo for his weekly prize draw.

The idea behind Legacycomps came after Tony after noticed so many small sports clubs, charities and good causes were constantly struggling for funds just to survive.

His mission is to raise money that will allow him to help these organisations continue to exist and help change lives.

Art and Design Lecturer Deborah Dennett said: “Working on a live project is a fully immersive learning experience for the students, with the bonus that perhaps one of the designs will be selected and used across a wide variety of promotional material”.

Tony added: "I am absolutely delighted that the Art & Design students from the Paisley campus have taken on the project to help rebrand Legacycomps Prize Bonanza Logo.

“I started this venture so I could give back to youth sports clubs, charities and general good causes. As I have spent most of my life at St Mirren and Paisley it is great to have the talented students based in the town help me take it to another level”.

Midfielder Tony made over 450 appearances for the Buddies and remains the second highest appearance maker in club history behind Hugh 'Shuggie' Murray.

These two spells as a player saw him captain the club, play in Europe and in our Scottish Cup win in 1987. He was also manager and chief executive at the club.

A competition was recently held to name a new company car and the "winning" name that was picked out was Winnie - and it can be seen out and about on the streets of Paisley.

Students, charities and youth clubs are something that Tony Fitzpatrick is very passionate about helping. He has already proved that he wants to go out of his way to help as in his first week of the company starting, Tony helped pay for families' shopping by surprising them at the till of a supermarket.

Tony added: “I am blown away by the support I have been given so far.

“From the students creating the artwork, which all look fantastic, to being able to help out people in tough times is something that I am proud to be able to do.”

The draw for the winner of the competition for the new logo is set to be decided soon, with all the candidates having entered a design.

Tony and guest draw presenter, Jed McCabe, have been delighted with the standard of entries.

Jed explained "Me and Tony have a difficult choice of choosing a winner as they are all fantastic. The level of detail that has gone into them is amazing and narrowing it down to just one winner will be very very hard.

"I would like to say thank you for all the students who took the time to enter and it really is appreciated from both myself and Tony."
