Paisley set for scorching end to the week as mini heatwave approaches

Paisley is set for a sizzling end to the week, but it won't last long.

After torrential rain caused flooding in the town on Monday, the weather is set to change dramatically by the end of the week.

Rain is expected to return on Thursday, before breaking for a stunning Friday as Renfrewshire experiences a week of two seasons.

The mercury is anticipated to peak in the early 30s across the UK, with Paisley temperatures pushing up to 25.

It won't last long though, with much cooler temperatures set to return by the weekend.

A Met Office spokesman said: "A brief very warm spell is likely for many areas at the end of this week with a good deal of sunshine, although increasing cloud may bring rain to the northwest."
