Paisley salon raiders make off with four-figure loot

Yobs nicked straighteners and hair oil worth thousands of pounds during a break-in at a Paisley salon.

Crooks raided Graphic Hair Design, in Glasgow Road, and made off with Christmas gift box sets of Moroccan oil and GHD stylers.

It’s believed the suspects got in through a back door before stealing the items.

A post on the salon’s Facebook page explains the disruption caused by the theft.

It says: “We have had the misfortune of a break-in over the weekend.

“Anyone who has shared this experience will know of the shock, hassle and disbelief.

“Whoever did this has stolen all our GHD stylers and also the Moroccan oil Christmas gift boxes.

“So if anyone is selling cheap, please don’t buy them.

“Hope no one else has to go through this.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A force spokeswoman said: “We are investigating a break-in at Graphic Hair Design, in Paisley’s Glasgow Road, between 5pm on Saturday and 8.30am on Tuesday.

“If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, then we would urge you to get in touch with police.

“A number of items were taken from the salon, with an estimated value of four figures.”

Meanwhile officers are investigating a theft from a popular Paisley restaurant.

Cash was stolen from Cardosi’s, in Storie Street, during a one-hour window on Wednesday night.

Thieves targeted the eatery between 11pm and midnight.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “If you saw anyone acting suspiciously between 11pm and midnight in Storie Street, Paisley, then we would like to hear from you.

“We are carrying out CCTV checks in the area and would urge anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
