Paisley road closed to traffic due to major flood

Drivers are being urged to avoid Linwood Toll after it flooded this afternoon.

Renfrewshire Council announced the road near to Aldi in Fergulsie is closed due to an ongoing Scottish Water issue.

A spokesman said: "We're aware of some flooding at Linwood Toll roundabout in Ferguslie due to a Scottish Water issue. The road is now closed. Please plan ahead and avoid the area. Scottish Water are aware."

PAISLEY DAILY EXPRESS: Live news as it happens

Police were on scene directing traffic away from the affected area.

A number of vehicles got stuck after attempting to drive through the deep water.
