Pupils at a Paisley primary school will have plenty to play with after a generous donation from a housing developer.
Sanctuary Scotland has handed over £10,000 to Bushes Primary School in Glenburn to pay for a new playground play area.
The school is close to Sanctuary Scotland’s Gleniffer Reach development at Skye Crescent where 131 new homes are being built by contractors, Cruden Building.
They plan to use the cash to work with parents on plans to replace its unused outdoor play equipment and create a fantastic outdoor space for pupils.
Headteacher Craig McCrorie, said: “We are extremely grateful to Sanctuary for their donation towards the refurbishment of our climbing frame play area.
“This donation will enable the Parent Council to work with our wider parent forum to refurbish this play area and make it accessible for all of our children.
“This refurbishment will have a positive impact on the lives of the children within Bushes for years to come.”
The funding comes from Sanctuary’s MORE! initiative, which supports community projects that benefit local people in areas where it is developing new homes.
Gillian Lavety, Sanctuary’s development director – Scotland, added: “We hope that our donation will enable the school to press on with the plans to transform the play area into an exciting and safe environment.
“We look forward to seeing the completed transformation and hope that it will provide years of fun for local schoolchildren.”
