Paisley primary pupils overjoyed at special visit from Santa's reindeer

Pupils at a Paisley primary school couldn’t believe their eyes when Santa’s reindeer made a special stop to visit them.

The youngsters at Williamsburgh Primary and nursery were overjoyed to get the chance to meet up with some of Santa’s most famous helpers as they took time out of their busy Christmas schedule to stop by.

Every class at the Lacy Street school got the chance to say hello to the reindeer - and even the staff were delighted to meet them too.

Ayr Reindeer Ltd were the ones who brought the special visitors after the school got in touch.

A spokeswoman from Williamsburgh Primary said: “The kids just absolutely loved it.

“It was a fantastic day and even some of the staff were so excited to go out and meet them.

“Pupils from every class got the chance to go out and spend some time with them and all of our children from the nursery did too.

“It was very exciting for them all and was lovely to see.”

The special festive visit is just one of many Christmas activities taking place at Williamsburgh in the lead up to the big day.

Pupils are getting ready for their virtual Christmas show, which will see every class perform some carols and festive songs.

And while parents aren’t able to go along, they will be given a QR code which will allow them to watch the performance virtually.

The school is also attending a virtual panto this year and they will be able to enjoy watching the production of Aladdin from the school.

The spokeswoman added: “We have been doing loads of great stuff with the pupils .

“Things do look a bit different this year with a lot of virtual activities but they are still getting to enjoy themselves.

“It’s fantastic that we are able to do things digitally so the children don’t miss out on all the Christmas fun.”
