Paisley man appeared at court in private over alleged murder bid

A man has appeared in private at Paisley Sheriff Court accused of attempted murder.

Gary McGuinness is alleged to have left a 24-year-old man with serious injuries in the town’s Stock Street around 9pm on Saturday.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, by ambulance for treatment following the alleged murder bid.

McGuinness, 28, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.

The Paisley man was remanded in custody and will return to court in the next eight days.
