Paisley house fire: man dead as police launch probe into Whites Bridge Avenue blaze

A man has died in a serious house fire in Paisley, prompting police to lock down the surrounding area.

The 47-year-old was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, reports the Paisley Daily Express, but sadly passed away following the blaze at Whites Bridge Avenue.

The incident was reported around 10pm last night (Thursday).

Cops have locked down the surrounding area, and Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team are understood to be leading the probe into the man’s death, currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 10.05pm on Thursday, May 6, to a report of fire at a property on Whites Bridge Avenue, Paisley.
