Murder probe as cops find man's body in Paisley flat

Murder cops have sealed off a block off flats after a body of a 32-year-old man was found.

Officers raced to the scene on Springbank Road in Paisley on Monday morning after receiving a report 'of concern for person' shortly before noon.

Police have launched an investigation and say they are currently treating the death as 'unexplained' but it is understood the investigation is being led by the force’s Major Investigation Team, who specialise in the most serious crimes such as murder.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 11.50am on Monday, 29 June, to Springbank Road, Paisley, after they received a report of a concern for person within a property.

"Police attended and the body of a 32-year-old man was found.

"Enquiries into the exact circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, are ongoing.

"A report will be sent for Procurator Fiscal."
