Paisley cops hunt stab and slash thug

A man was stabbed and slashed in the face in a brutal blade attack in Paisley’s south end.

The 42-year-old victim was found with horror injuries in Espedair Street around 1am yesterday.

Police raced to reports of a violent disturbance unfolding and discovered the bloodied man in the street.

He was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the town and was given stitches.

He was later released.

It’s understood a rammy broke out in a flat before spilling out onto the street, leaving the victim seriously hurt.

However, when officers arrived the thugs behind the vicious weapons attack had fled the area.

Yesterday, the close was on lock-down as detectives continued their investigation.

Two plainclothes CID officers were seen examining debris outside the block.

Police say they will carry out door-to-door enquiries and review CCTV from the area.

Cops probing the armed onslaught have launched an appeal for witnesses and urged anyone with information to come forward.
