Pair on assault rap after alleged attack on taxi driver in Fife

Two people have been arrested and charged after a taxi driver was allegedly assaulted inside his cab in Fife.

Police were called to reports of an incident on Admiralty Road in the Rosyth at around 8.20pm on Saturday evening.

A 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident.

The pair are due to appear in court at a later date.

The 40-year-old male taxi driver involved in the incident was not injured and did not require hospital treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20 pm on Saturday, 30 May, 2021, police were called to a report that a taxi driver, a 40-year-old man, had been allegedly assaulted within his taxi on Admiralty Road, Rosyth.

"Two people, a man aged 29 and a 33-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They have been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
